Steel Designer/Drafter Details:
Direct Hire position- $
60,000.00 to $ 80,000.00 / annually Salaried
- Build a 3-D model using 3-D modeling software (Tekla or SDS2) used to generate shop drawings for fabrication and field drawings for erection. We also use AutoCAD to create 2D shop drawings for fab and field drawings for erection.
- Request necessary answers to missing information
- Some field measuring possible
- Create shop, assembly and erection drawings
- Create all necessary reports required for fabrication and procurement
- Provide input and come up with solutions
- Create bills of material
- Take full responsibility for all aspects of projects involved with
- Detailer will be required to detail and/or check all project complexities and work through building conditions accurately
- Import and export files to be used by other software’s and CNC Plasma machine
- Keep up to date with software through training
- Organize all paperwork for individual jobs including files, drawings, contracts and all other aspects of each project
- And all other duties as assigned
Steel Designer/Drafter Qualifications:
- Associates degree in drafting and 2+ years of experience drafting in a machine design capacity.
- Experience working with Tekla OR SDS2 is a major plus
- Ability to Communicate effectively with routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Proficiently use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometer, gage pins and surface roughness gages.
