Field Service Tech - Heavy Equipment Details:
Direct Hire position- $
90,000.00 to $ 105,000.00 / annually Salaried
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and motor graders.
- Perform preventative maintenance, including fluid checks, oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to ensure equipment reliability.
- Utilize diagnostic tools, telematics data, and machine history to accurately troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Prepare for service calls by reviewing equipment history, analyzing telematics reports, and gathering necessary parts and tools.
- Communicate with customers to confirm symptoms, discuss repair needs, and provide updates on service progress.
- Ensure high first-time fix rates by conducting thorough pre-trip planning and diagnostics before arriving on-site.
- Maintain accurate service records, including detailed documentation of diagnostics, repairs, parts usage, and labor times in the ERP system.
- Adhere to safety and compliance standards, including PPE usage, environmental safety protocols, and DOT regulations for service vehicles.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs, offering maintenance recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Meet performance metrics, such as response times, service quality, and documentation accuracy, to uphold company standards.
Field Service Tech - Heavy Equipment Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmissions.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, telematics platforms, and ERP systems.
- Experience working with preventative maintenance programs and first-time fix strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer interactions and service documentation.
- Ability to work independently in a remote field environment while managing service schedules efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel across Ft. Myers and surrounding counties (Polk to Collier).
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school training is preferred.
