Elwood Staffing would like to inform job seekers about potential employment scams that involve individuals posing as our recruiters to solicit job seekers with job opportunities unrelated to our company. This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.

What steps should you take if you suspect you've received a fraudulent text?

Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure - how to recognize a scam

Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.
Our recruiters will never ask for personal information such as your social security number, date of birth, or bank information prior to onboarding. During onboarding you will enter your information and passcode protect it.

Production Assistant – Woodworking

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Float/Dowel Assistant to support our production team with edge banding, part preparation, and dowel machine operations. Production Assistant – Woodworking Details:

Temp-to-Hire position
$18.00 to $20.00 /hour
Full Time work available
First Shift (Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 02:30pm)

Float/Dowel Assistant
Good communication and teamwork skills
Assist with housekeeping and other tasks as assigned

Production Assistant – Woodworking Qualifications:

Act as the off-bearer at the Edge Bander machine
Inspect parts for quality issues (e.g., glue height, scalping, chips, end trims)
Communicate clearly with the machine operator about part quality
Ensure parts are handled without damage and loaded onto carts efficiently
Prepare cleaned parts for efficient processing at the Dowel station
Sand products in preparation for finishing
