The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource functions of People & Culture.


Essential Functions of the Director of Human Resources:

  • Guardian of turnover reduction initiatives and reporting.
  • Strategist for recruiting and talent attraction efforts.
  • Drives People & Culture projects to completion and maintains reporting of results.
  • Navigator of employee screening, onboarding, and offboarding policies and procedures.
  • Administrator of LOA / FMLA and coordinates with the Benefits team on STD/LTD.
  • Administers changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
  • Conducts employee relations investigations and directs corrective action when required.
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by SVP of People & Culture, on personnel matters.
  • Recommends, evaluates, and participates in staff development for the organization in collaboration with Learning & Development team.
  • Maintains human resource information system data that meets the organization's personnel information needs.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.
  • Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.


Qualifications & Required Experience for a Director of Human Resources:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional-level HR position with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Specifically seeking a tenured practitioner in the activiites described in the essential functions of the role.
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) minimum credential.
  • We are seeking someone who has demonstrated experience in fully utilizing available technologies including HRMS, Time Keeping, Payroll, Benefits, and Performance Management systems.
